Explore the possibilities of cloud-to-endpoint connectivity
One of the most ubiquitous forms of connectivity is WiFi. Almost all private residences now use WiFi for local networking, and there are also countless public networks available.
Wifi provides far greater flexibility, functionality and value to any technology product. By adding connectivity, you are also adding the ability to deliver software and firmware updates. So-called Over The Air (OTA) updates are important to keeping security up to date as well as enhancing a product’s capability once it has left the factory. As software is now responsible for almost all of the functionality of modern products, being able to modify that functionality through OTA updates to the software is a massive benefit to the manufacturer and the user.
Adding WiFi connectivity to a product can be achieved in many ways, one of which is using pre-certified modules. To help developers just starting to tackle this challenge, we’ve put together a full guide to getting a WiFi connection up and running using an Mbed board and Mbed OS.
